Seismic strengthening of historic buildings: meshes and connectors
How to strengthen historic masonry without distorting it: fibre meshes, connectors and reinforced plaster. Lessons from the Palazzo Bellante site in Cavalese.

In historic buildings, the intervention must improve safety without erasing the building’s construction character.
Light, compatible systems
Glass or carbon fibre meshes, connectors and reinforced plaster allow thin layers and materials compatible with the existing masonry. Sizing is always the structural engineer’s job.
On site, precision matters
For the contractor, the details make the difference: well-prepared substrates, correct anchoring, continuous meshes and orderly phases. That is what we did at Palazzo Bellante in Cavalese.
Work you no longer see once the site is finished – but which stays there, protecting the building and the people in it.
